| Mount Zion Says No to CS8 |
| Wednesday, April 30, 2008 |
| Mount Zion has turned down an invitation to join the Central State Eight conference.
It's the second time in less than 3 months that Mount Zion has declined the opportunity.
Mount Zion and Rochester were asked in February to become the 9th and 10th teams in the conference. Rochester accepted, but Mount Zion said no then.
The school said no again Monday night, although the vote was not unanimous.
Mount Zion will stay in the Apollo Conference.
The CS8 will re-examine its options at the conference meeting a week from today.
Quincy Notre Dame, Bloomington Central Catholic, and Peoria Notre Dame are rumored to also be in the running to become the 10th school in the CS8. |
