Ward 4 Primary Election on Tuesday

Three candidates are running for alderman in Ward 4. They are Torrey Bourn, Judd Casler, and Mike Wankel. City Clerk Skip Bradshaw says the three men are write-in candidates, so don’t expect to see their names on the ballot.
“Basically, it's going to be a blank slate," says Bradshaw. "It's just going to say 'Fourth Ward Aldermen'. I think there's going to be a box and you have to check the box. There will be a place to write a name in because it's strictly a write-in."
The top two vote-getters will move on the April 9th election. Bradshaw says their names will appear on that ballot.
Only registered voters in Jacksonville precincts 14, 15, 16 and 17 will vote in the primary. There will only be one polling place: First Baptist Church at 1701 Mound Road.
The Ward 4 aldermanic seat opened up after C. D. Davidsmeyer was named the new state representative in the 100th Legislative District.
There are no other races in Tuesday’s Primary Election.
The polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and close at 7 p.m.
