Hammer could fall on 117 budget tonight

With a current operating deficit of $2.4-million, the board will hold a special meeting to vote on the approval of recommendations made at a meeting last month.
No action was taken two weeks ago when a special meeting was held to gather public input on the proposed cuts.
Budget items that could be slashed include two boys and girls sports programs from Jacksonville High School and Turner Junior High, seven certified positions, and student-level funding at 8 Points Charter School.
Tonight’s meeting is at 6:00 at Jacksonville High School.
