Greene County holding health fair

The health fair is from 6 a.m. to noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Route 67 south of Carrollton. The purpose is to offer health-related screenings, increase awareness of health resources available to area residents, and promote safety, wellness and healthy lifestyles.

Over 30 different screenings and informational displays with free promotional materials will be offered, including free blood pressure, vision screening, hearing screenings and Derma Scan.

Blood testing will be offered. There are fees associated with some of the services, with the highest being $20. There will also be glucometer checks for diabetics.

A diabetic retinopathy screening unit as well as a Blood Mobile will be in attendance this year. In addition, Catholic Daughters in cooperation with the St. John’s Booster Club will provide a food stand during the Health Fair.

Information will be provided by the Health Department  on the Illinois Tobacco Quitline, Family Case Management, WIC, Home Health, Respite, Access Assistance, Medication Management and Emergency Preparedness.
